Frequently asked questions
Which blood tests are included in the pregnancy panel?
The Pregnancy Panel at IntroLab laboratory includes 10 tests: a complete blood count with differential, glucose, urea, creatinine, AST, ALT, iron, total protein, TSH and urinalysis with sediment. Together they show the blood count, blood sugar and how the kidneys, liver and thyroid are working, which is what a gynecologist most often checks during pregnancy.
How much does the pregnancy panel cost and when are results ready?
The Pregnancy Panel costs 2,200 RSD, while the same 10 tests ordered separately would cost 2,690 RSD. Results are ready in 4 hours, so a pregnant woman can take them to her gynecologist appointment the same day. Blood type and Rh factor are not part of the panel and are tested separately (2,500 RSD).
How should I prepare for blood tests during pregnancy?
Blood for the Pregnancy Panel is drawn in the morning, after fasting for at least 8 hours. Avoid overeating the day before the test, and avoid smoking and stress for one hour before the blood draw. For the urinalysis, bring a first morning urine sample.
